Dawgs 4 Paws (February 18th & March 17th)
On Saturday, January 21st, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. the Central Brevard Humane Society and Dogs Family Sports Bar & Grill, located at 1580 E. Merritt Island Causeway on Merritt Island will be hosting “Dawgs 4 Paws”.

This monthly event will feature a specific sport theme (February - NBA Season/Daytona 500), along with adoptable animals from the Humane Society (adopters will receive a “FREE” gift from Dogs Bar & Grill), demonstrations, a 50/50 raffle, door prizes, drink specials and much, much more! Admission is “FREE” for everyone including the “furry” friends. All animals must be on a leash or in a carrier and have proof of current shots along with a county tag.

The Central Brevard Humane Society will also be there providing the public with fun educational information about responsible pet ownership, and will have merchandise available for purchase.

Proceeds from this event will help raise awareness and financial support for the thousands of unwanted and abandoned pets that visit the Humane Society each year, who need a safe and loving “forever” home.

9th Annual Molly Mutt Poker Run (February 19th)
The Central Brevard Humane Society will host its 9th Annual Molly Mutt Poker Run on Sunday, February 19th, starting at 10 a.m. at the Humane Society, located at 1020 Cox Road in Cocoa. The cost to participate in the run will be $7.00 per hand or (2) hands for $10.00. Donations of pet supplies are greatly appreciated. All vehicles are welcome.

The run will begin at the Central Brevard Humane Society and will end at the Warlock MC Clubhouse. The first bike out will be scheduled to leave at 10 a.m., with the last one departing at 11:30 a.m. Event activities will include a 50/50 drawing, vendor displays, food and a live band, beginning at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for “best”, “worst” and “mystery” hands.

All proceeds from this event will help raise awareness and financial support for the thousands of “unwanted and abandoned” pets that visit the shelter each year, who need a safe and loving “forever” home.

6th Annual Mardi Gras Paws in the Park (February 26th)
The Central Brevard Humane Society would like to invite local businesses and rescue groups to take part in their 6th Annual Mardi Gras Paws in the Park event that will be held in conjunction with Cocoa Village Mardi Gras on Sunday, February 26th, from 12 noon - 3 p.m., at Riverfront Park in historic Cocoa Village.

Sponsorship opportunities for Mardi Gras Paws in the Park are for individuals and businesses at all levels, beginning at $100 for the “Purple” sponsorship and up to $1,000 and above for the primary sponsorship, “The Big Easy”. This annual event features extensive promotion and offers a fantastic quality “bang for your buck” for sponsors – all while having exceptionally high charitable returns for the homeless animals of Brevard. The cost for businesses to be a part of the vendor village at Mardi Gras Paws in the Park is $50.00. All rescue groups may participate at “no charge” (pending space availability). Vendors and rescue groups must supply their own tables, chairs, promotional materials, display racks and setup staff.

Mardi Gras Paws in the Park is a “FREE” animal and family friendly event for pet lovers young and the young at heart that will include rescue groups, a vendor village, pet contests, the crowning of the “furry” King and Queen of the Park, a demonstration from the Brevard Sheriff Department’s Paws & Stripes Cadets, a Mardi Gras Parade of Pets and live entertainment. All animals must be on a leash and have proof of current shots along with a county tag.

The Central Brevard Humane Society unlike the County’s Animal Care Centers in Melbourne and Titusville, is not funded through tax dollars. All of their funding comes through donations, adoption fees, product sales, fundraisers and their (4) Molly Mutt Thrift Stores located in downtown Melbourne, Merritt Island, Palm Bay and Rockledge.

4th Annual Whiskers, Wags & Wine
Hayes Meats Gourmet Foods & Produce, located at 285 Fortenberry Road on Merritt Island will be hosting the 4th Annual Whiskers, Wags & Wine event to benefit the Central Brevard Humane Society on Saturday, March 10th, from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

Admission is “FREE” for everyone including the “furry” friends. The event will feature wine tasting & hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment, chair massages, raffle prizes and much, much more! All animals must be on a leash or in a carrier and have proof of current shots along with a county tag.
