2nd Annual Bark in the Park
The Central Brevard Humane Society in conjunction with Space Coast Stadium will be hosting Bark in the Park on Friday, August 20th, at the Stadium, located at 5800 Stadium Parkway in Viera. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Come enjoy an evening at the ballpark with your dog! Watch the Brevard County Manatees take on the Lakeland Flying Tigers while visiting pet vendors, participating in fun raffles and much, much more. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and watch the action from the grass berms around the outfield fence. Cost to attend the game is $5.00 per person and $2.00 per dog. All animals must be on a leash and have proof of current shots along with a county tag.

The Central Brevard Humane Society (CBHS) will be there at the event with shelter dogs, and will also provide the public with fun educational information about responsible pet ownership. There will also be CBHS merchandise there for purchase.

Proceeds from this event will help to raise awareness and financial support for the thousands of unwanted and abandoned pets that visit the Humane Society each year, who need a safe and loving “forever” home.

9th Annual Paws at the Pier Event
Surfs up, animal style!

One of the Central Brevard Humane Society’s biggest fundraisers of the year is the 9th Annual Paws at the Pier. It will be held on Saturday, September 18th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cocoa Beach Pier in Cocoa Beach.

This event is everyone’s favorite interactive pet-friendly fundraiser that includes the whole family and the “furry” friends. Some of this year’s activities will include live entertainment, pet contests (best dressed, best pet trick and pet/owner look-a-like), door prizes, silent auction and a vendor village.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for individuals and businesses at all levels, beginning at $100 for the “Bow Wow” sponsorship and up to $1,000 and above for the primary sponsorship, “The Big Dog Kahuna”. This annual event is one of the highest quality, features extensive promotion, and offers a fantastic “bang for your buck” for sponsors – all while having exceptionally high charitable return for the homeless animals of Brevard.

Paws at the Pier is one of the Central Brevard Humane Society’s signature events that helps raise awareness and financial support for the thousands of unwanted and abandoned pets that visit our shelter each year, who need a safe and loving “forever” home. The proceeds from this event will also help to fund their new state-of-the-art “low-cost” spay/neuter facility, located behind the shelter in Cocoa.

The Central Brevard Humane Society unlike the County’s Animal Care Centers in Melbourne and Titusville, is not funded through tax dollars.  All of their funding comes through donations, adoption fees, product sales, fundraisers and their (4) Thrift Shops located in downtown Melbourne, Merritt Island, Palm Bay and Rockledge.

Humane Society Reveals Winner of Brevard’s Poshest Pet Contest
A year old Bernese Mountain Dog named Maddie took top honors as the winner of the Central Brevard Humane Society’s 2nd Annual Brevard’s Poshest Pet Contest.  Maddie along with her owner Meredith Haley raised over $12,500 to win the covenant title.  As the winning pet, Maddie will be featured on the cover of SpaceCoast Living Magazine’s July issue. 

The “big” winner of the contest was revealed at the Poshest Pet VIP Party held on Saturday, June 26th, at the home of Dr. Ruben and Rita Moreno in Melbourne.  Over 125 people attended the event.  

Brevard’s Poshest Pet raised over almost $50,000 for the Central Brevard Humane Society’s new “low-cost” Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic, located directly behind the shelter in Cocoa.
