"Hearts of Love” Adopt-a-thon
The Central Brevard Humane Society will be hosting their “Hearts of Love” Adopt-a-thon on Saturday, February 13th and Sunday, February 14th, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (both days) at the Humane Society, located at 1020 Cox Road in Cocoa.

The event will include special pricing on all types of adoptable pets, FREE microchipping for each pet adopted during the 2-day event, door prizes and refreshments. 


7th Annual Molly Mutt Road Rally
The Central Brevard Humane Society will host its 7th Annual Molly Mutt Road Rally and Poker Run on Sunday, February 21st, starting at 10 a.m. at the Humane Society located at 1020 Cox Road in Cocoa. The cost to participate in the poker run will be $7.00 per hand or (2) hands for $10.00. Donations of pet supplies are greatly appreciated. All vehicles are welcome
.

The run will begin at the Central Brevard Humane Society and will end at a location to be determined. The first bike out will be scheduled to leave at 10 a.m., with the last one departing at 11:30 a.m. Event activities will include a 50/50 drawing, vendor displays, food and live entertainment. Prizes will be awarded for “best”, “worst” and “mystery” hands.

All proceeds from this event helps to raise awareness and financial support for the thousands of unwanted and abandoned pets that visit the shelter each year, who need a safe and loving “forever” home. For more information, contact Theresa Clifton at (321) 636-3343 or tclifton1@cfl.rr.com.


4th Annual Mardi Gras Paws in the Park
The Central Brevard Humane Society would like to invite local businesses and rescue groups to participate in their 4th Annual Mardi Gras Paws in the Park that will be held in conjunction with Space Coast Mardi Gras on Sunday, February 28th, from 12 noon - 3 p.m., at Riverfront Park in Historic Cocoa Village.

Mardi Gras Paws in the Park is a “FREE” animal and family friendly event for pet lovers young and the young at heart that will include rescue groups, a vendor village, pet contests, the crowning of the “furry” King and Queen of the Park, a demonstration from the Brevard Sheriff Department’s Paws & Stripes Cadets, a Mardi Gras Parade of Pets and live entertainment. All animals must be on a leash and have proof of current shots along with a county tag.

The cost for businesses to be a part of the vendor village at Mardi Gras Paws in the Park is $50.00. All rescue groups may participate at “no charge” (pending space availability). Vendors and rescue groups must supply their own tables, chairs, promotional materials, display racks and setup staff. The Central Brevard Humane Society unlike the County’s Animal Care Centers in Melbourne and Titusville, is not funded through tax dollars. All of their funding comes through donations, adoption fees, product sales, fundraisers and their (3) Molly Mutt Thrift Stores located in downtown Melbourne, Merritt Island and Rockledge.


WHISKERS, WAGS, WINE AND PAWS-N-MASSAGE
Come enjoy an afternoon of fun at the 2nd Annual Whiskers, Wags and Wine Paws-n-Massage hosted by Hayes Meats & Gourmet Foods on Saturday, March 20th, from 12 noon to 4 p.m., at Hayes Meats located at 285 Fortenberry Road, Merritt Island. All proceeds raised from this event will go to benefit the Central Brevard Humane Society.

Activities include:
l Wine Tasting & Hors d’oeuvres
(Must be 21 years of age or older to participate in the wine tasting portion of the event.)

l Live Entertainment by Photographs from a Moving Vehicle, Chair Massages, Raffle Prizes and much, much more!
(One of the raffle prizes will be one of Hayes Meat’s Gourmet Steak Package)

l Admission is “FREE” For Everyone (including your “furry” friends)

* For each bottle of “Featured Wine” sold during the event - a portion of the proceeds will go to help raise awareness & financial support for the thousands of unwanted and abandoned pets that visit the Humane Society each year.
