l CBHS’s at the Summer Craft Fair - Historic Cocoa Village, from 10 am to 5 pm The Central Brevard Humane Society (CBHS) will be participating in this weekend event. They will be providing the public with fun educational information about responsible pet ownership. There will also be CBHS merchandise for purchase. Saturday, June 14th
l CBHS Shelter Volunteer Orientation (must be 16 years of age or older to participate in the orientation/animal handling programs). The orientation will be held, from 9 am to 10 am & the animal handling, from 10 am to 11 am at the Central Brevard Humane Society - 1020 Cox Road, Cocoa
The Central Brevard Humane Society (CBHS) is in need of dedicated individuals or groups who care about the welfare of animals. Volunteering opportunities are available at our shelter in historic downtown Melbourne, Merritt Island and Rockledge at the Molly Mutt Thrift Shops or as a “Society Ambassador” during community outreach (off-site) events.
Volunteer activities may include walking dogs, socializing cats, grooming animals, shelter beautification projects; as well as retail help at our thrift shops and assisting with community education and adoption events. The Humane Society is always looking for volunteers with grant writing, fundraising, clerical and animal handling/obedience training experience.
Pre-registration is required. All volunteer applications must be completed prior to the start of the CBHS Volunteer Orientation/Animal Handling Programs. During orientation, please wear long pants (no shorts) and closed toed shoes (no flip flops).

Monday, June 16th – Friday, June 20th
l 3rd Annual Dog Days of Summer Camp for Kids to be held on June 16th - 20th for children ages 9 to 13 years of age, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Humane Society’s Shelter located at 1020 Cox Road in Cocoa
Campers can come and enjoy fun games, creative arts & crafts and come face-to-face with exciting animal friends - some ‘furry, fuzzy and scaly’. They will learn about responsible pet ownership, the humane treatment of animals and pet safety.
Presenters include 4-H Clubs/Brevard County Extension (speaking about horses and the care of them), Awesome Dog Training (teaching dog obedience techniques), Becky Bolt with Kennedy Space Center (talking about the wildlife at the Space Center), Brevard County K-9 Unit, Coon’s Run Wildlife Refuge, Florida Fish & Wildlife, Gatorland® and Jungle Adventure.
